Jesus Christ is Lord of all

Philippians 2:9-11

For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The acceptance of Christ as Savior is also submission to Him as Lord. In fact, it should be the other way around. A.W. Tozer said, “To urge men and women to believe in a divided Christ is bad teaching, for no one can receive half of Christ, or a third of Christ, or a quarter of the Person of Christ! We are not saved by believing in an office nor in a work.”

Jesus Christ is God and Lord (Luke 2:11; Colossians 3:17), and if you don’t want to submit to His authority, He cannot be your Savior (Romans 10:9). If your worship and faith towards Him is true, submission to Him will be evident in your life. Change that leads to a godly lifestyle will be manifest.

The apostle Paul said to the church in Corinth - For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake (2 Corinthians 4:5). Reflection Questions: 1. Is Jesus Christ my Savior only or my Lord as well? 2. How is this evident in your life? 3. What will you say to those who claim that Christ can be your Savior and not necessary as Lord of our lives?
